Off-grid experience, co-living space, beach private Cabana
Located on the Pacific coast of Isla Los Brasiles in Nicaragua, the lodge is a beachfront Eco-resort. Following the principles of permaculture, Carpe Diem was built over the last 5 years by over 700 international volunteers from our natural building school. Over 90% of building structures were built with natural or recycled materials. We are solar-powered and use water directly from man-made wells on site. Half of the 1-hectare piece of land is forested and serves as a camping area and fruit farm, while the front is a stunning sunny area where guests can enjoy the main community space. Compost toilets and showers are scattered throughout the premises for your convenience.
COMMUNITY AND CO-LIVING
We nurture a back to the source and healthy environment where people can heal, grow and get empowered through the support of a community.
To connect people and create a vibe that is more user-friendly, we decided to create a co-living space instead of a traditional host/guest resort.
Everyone participate in daily tasks like passing the broom, filling the water filter, helping to cook, etc… It only takes a few minutes per day but it makes all the difference!
For $30 per night our beach Cabanas are beautiful, spacious and natural. The walls are made of cob (a mixture of clay, sand and straw) and the roofs are made of palm leaves. Because of the material we use, the temperature inside is naturally fresh (especially in Nicaraguan heat) Every room is furnished with a double bed, nightstands and a wardrobe.

Activities
For free, every mornings on weekdays, we have access to our yoga classes. We love to encourage and empowered people so anyone is welcome to offer the own workshop, services or classes. You fix a price and we keep 30% of the profits for the project and for local community projects.
We do rent surfboards. The coast is really wild so we can not promise good waves every day.
As a part of our daily routine, we do offer free hands-on eco-building classes every morning during weekdays.
