Appaloosa-Ranch

On an idyllic and secluded small horse ranch in a convenient location, the Appaloosa-Ranch offers you a double and a single room for up to four people.

We are located in the small village Dobruša, which belongs to the municipality of Vodice, about 15 km north of Ljubljana. Still dominated by agriculture, sociable village life and rich fauna and flora, it is a little hidden paradise with its fantastic alpine panorama.

The double-room is furnished with a double bed, a cupboard, a table with two chairs in an authentic ambience. If necessary, we can offer you a baby crib too. It will be a pleasure for you to see the horses through your window.

There is an additional small, simple, bright room with a bunk bed available for up to two people, maybe children, teenagers or people with less requirements. The window offers a beautiful view of the horse pasture and the edge of the wood.

The bathroom in the next room, offers a shower, toilet and sink. You will have access to a homelike saloon with a big cockle stove and a cosy couch. There is the possibility to play tabletop football too.

Our fully-fledged rich vegan breakfast will make you fit for an active day. Among other things we offer you daily home made fresh fullgrain spelt bread, green smoothies, fresh home made spreads and jams, home made sprouts and fresh organic vegetables from our garden.

On hot summer days or as a dessert we can offer you on demand our delicious homemade raw ice cream.

Furthermore you can order vegan lunches or dinners too.

You can enjoy the fresh air, the beautiful green of the meadows and the view of our animals on some simple seats around the farm house.

We are a young swiss-slovenian family with two kids living here on our Appaloosa ranch. For ethic and health reasons we live on vegan food. Two dogs and four cats live together with us.

Our seven horses belong to the Appaloosa breed, originally descending from the Indians. The horses are living together in a group in a clean and adequate open stable and are very interested to get in contact with humans. With their interesting appearance they are a feast for the eyes. Any interest in the horses or some support from your side is very welcome.

Our location is ideal for travelers searching for a one night break only, as well as for tourists looking for a base for exploring the entire country.

The distance from Munich, Germany, is only 400 km and from Villach, Austria, only 80 km. You have easy access to Slovenia by plane, by train or by car. If you wish, we can pick you up from Airport Ljubljana. There is a direct bus connection from the main train station Ljubljana. The bus takes about 30 minutes to arrive in our village of Dobruša.

Ljubljana, the charming capital of Slovenia with its picturesque old town offers several catering possibilities for vegan people. It will be a pleasure for us to inform you.

Parking for one vehicle is included. Bicycles for an excursion are available.
