Village House in Historic Place

The picture-perfect Italian village of Casperia, our base since 1998, is situated in the heart of the Sabina mountains just north of Rome. It is totally car-free, with fewer than 350 inhabitants. The fortified medieval village has amazing panoramic views of the Sabina hills and mountain landscape from every angle.

Travel with low-cost flights to either of Rome’s airports and you’ll reach Casperia in a little over an hour on public transport or, for a fee, we can collect you.

Each of the houses in which Sunflower Retreats’ guests stay is within a couple of minutes walk from the others and from our yoga studios, breakfast lounge and treatment rooms. Your walk will take you through the winding cobbled streets of Casperia.

The unspoilt structure and atmosphere of the village gives you a unique feeling of being in a historic place in time-gone-by: A place of natural beauty surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and forest-covered mountains where you can watch the changing scenery from every angle.

Accommodation and breakfast
Five 90-minute yoga classes yoga classes, Friday through Tuesday. (Three classes on 4-night retreats)
Three one-hour afternoon yoga classes. (One on 4-night retreats)
A 2-hour Saturday yoga and meditation workshop
A welcome dinner with drinks
Use of our private swimming pool
A guided walk in the Sabina mountains
All-week use of bicycles
Fresh linen and towels with mid week change of towels and room clean
Transport to local restaurants some evenings.
A shuttle bus to Poggio Mirteto station at 09.00 on departure day (Wed).

All participants must be covered by their own travel insurance.
All guests on our yoga retreats stay in our accommodation. We don’t offer participation in yoga classes or activities for people staying elsewhere.

The village shops, which include an organic health food store, stock a large range of food and drinks if you would like to cook at home.

If required, an extra maid service comprised of a linen change and full room clean and can be provided at a cost of €15 per-room, per-day. Please contact the booking office, or ask our staff during your stay.

Most of our twin rooms can be made into doubles if required and hairdryers are provided.

Fans are available to cool bedrooms in the warmer months.

Accommodation in a characteristic, traditionally-furnished,medieval village house, used exclusively by Sunflower Retreats Holidays’ guests.

The houses have breathtaking panoramic views and are in delightful locations within Casperia’s medieval walls. Each house has a small terrace where you can have your meals, read or sunbathe.

Kitchens are shared, with facilities that are characteristic of a traditional Italian village house,rather than a modernised house.
Twin and double rooms are just for people who come together.
